Leadership Expert Says Use Stories or Risk Failure

John P. Kotter, a renowned expert on leadership at the Harvard Business School, is convinced that are benefits for leaders using stories. He writes, "Those in leadership positions who fail to grasp or use the power of stories risk failure for their companies and for themselves."

I recently posted an article on using stories to leave you audience wanting more. The strategy does work and it's a way to connect with others. Now, what leader wouldn't like to connect with their organization? Truth be told, we all would like to connect with our organization.

Read Kotter's The Power of Stories article at Forbes.com. The article is packed with a few good stories about successful leaders that used the power of stories.

Using stories worked for these leaders, put them in your success arsenal. Don't dismiss the idea. Kotter says, "...too few business leaders grasp the idea that stories can have a profound effect on people.
