Many leaders make a big mistake when comes to networking. We stop doing it. A few years back I stopped networking because my life got busy. Boy, what a huge mistake! When my former employer shut the doors, the reality of searching for a new opportunity smacked me head on. Sure, I would find a new opportunity but I didn't have any warm leads in the pipeline.
My former co-worker at the office was a steady networker. As soon as he got the news about the closing, he reached out to his network. He says he landed his new opportunity within a week.
