How to Greet on the First Day of Work

What's the best way to greet folks on the first day? This was a question I had asked many years when I landed my first leadership job. I wanted to make a good impression and gain some credibility. Tina Amo writes, "make eye contact, smile and extend your hand for a handshake."  Sure sounds simple! But if you think about it, some people don't make eye contact very well.
