Stop Bossing, Start Coaching

Early in my career, I can recall a few managers saying, 'just do it and don't ask questions.' These guys didn't last long because they didn't have the power of the team carrying out their plans. As I remember, no one trusted these so called managers.

In the old days, they may have gotten away with this type of behavior, but not in this era of self-directed teams and empowerment. Employees have ideas and thoughts, they are no longer willing to accept situations where they have no voice.

Thank goodness times have changed--management is more about coaching and leading. Checkin these leading tips>>"Managers should learn to be the coach – not the boss."
